Alexius I Comnenus, 1081-1118. Tetarteron (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.88 g, 11 h), Thessalonica. Jeweled coss with X at center; in angles, C-Φ / M-Δ. Rev. Tω KOM[NH] Half-length bust of Comnenus facing, wearing loros, holding cruciform scepter in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left. DOC 40a. SB 1931. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
